			If you manage a team, or are responsible for your organisation's training, you can train all your people to use plain English without their having to leave their desks. You can now have our Writing plain English course on CD-ROM, to copy to your employees or install on your organisation's intranet or network. The course includes all the topics that we cover in our successful classroom courses and there is even a plain English phrase book to help you if you're stuck for the right word.
		The course includes: - what do we mean by plain English? - the main plain English techniques - using everyday words - keeping your sentences short and effective - using 'bullet lists' - making your writing 'human' - writing 'actively' - punctuating properly - grammar tips - writing letters and reports. The course takes around four hours to work through, and there are lots of exercises to help staff practise their new-found skills and knowledge. Costs We provide the course on CD-ROM and you pay for a licence to copy the material to staff or to install it on an intranet or network. There is a sliding scale of charges based on the number of employees who would have access to the course. The more people you want to have access, the cheaper it gets 'per head': - for up to 12 people - £750 - for 13 to 50 people - £2,500 - for 51 to 200 people - £7,500 - for 201 to 500 people - £12,500 - for over 500 people - £20,000. There is no time limit to the licence and we will send you free updates to the course and phrase book when we produce them. We can tailor the course to provide information direct to your learning management system, if you have one. You can keep track of who has started the course, who has finished it and so on. This service will usually be free, but may depend on the type of system you have, the amount of information you want and the cost of the licence you buy. Technical stuff Your intranet or network administrator will be pleased to know that our course doesn't install any programs, cookies or other undesirable software. The course is made up of a series of interactive web pages (html files) so as long as your users have access to a web browser such as Internet Explorer they will be able to use the course. The course uses ShockWave animations (swf files) to deliver the interactive content, so your users' browser settings will need to allow them to view this type of file.
